ECHO Klassik 2009: TRIP TO ASIA wins coveted trophy!
On October 18th 2009 this years winners of the ECHO Klassik where celebrated at a gala event in the packed Semperoper in Dresden. The trophy, regarded as one of the world’s most important music prizes, was handed to BOOMTOWN MEDIA'S label BOOMTOWN SOUNDS for "the best DVD production of the year" – the TRIP TO ASIA – Collector’s Edition.

The ECHO Klassik awards celebrated their 15th anniversary this year and are one of the world’s most important music prizes. Each year, the Deutsche Phono-Akademie – the German Music Industry Association’s cultural institute - honours outstanding achievements and successful performances by national and international artists. The year’s classical music winners include Plácido Domingo, Anne Sophie Mutter, Christian Gerhaher, Daniel Hope and Elīna Garanča, who receives the prestigious award in the "Female Singer of the Year" category.
The ECHO Klassik reflects both the opinion of critics and the appreciation of music buyers. The ECHO award winners are selected by a jury comprising outstanding celebrities from the world of politics, culture and the media as well as the Classic Working Group of the Bundesverband Musikindustrie.
