I introduced you today at the additional showing of your film, Trip to Asia, at the Palm Springs Film Festival. While I was able to return briefly to help you begin the Q/A, I was unable to stay, because I had to introduce another film in another theatre.
I was hoping to see you again before you left, but I apparently missed you. I wanted to tell you that your film impressed me deeply. Listening to the orchestra members talk about their lives and their music struck me as incredibly poignant. Having spend 38 years working in management for a large international airline, I was struck with the profound observations of the musicians and how applicable they are to all of our work and personal lives. Some of the subjects your film prompted for me were 1)talent without determination, 2)the balance required in a democratic organzation, 3)being part of a group/team and yet needing personal recognition, 4) desiring privacy and yet dependening on others to help us achieve success. THere are many more. In addition, I studied classical piano for 8 years and am an avid fan of Sir Simon Rattle.
Sorry to go on so long, but I hope our paths cross again. I would love to talk with you more about all the above in relation to your brilliant documentary.
