Martin Hoffmann was born in Berlin in 1971.

He began by studying psychology then turned to studying mechanical engineering in Siegen and Berlin. He was trained in Berlin as a cameraman and master of cutting at Cine Impuls.

In 1994 he founded his first production firm 'Sojus Film' then later the firms 'Pool Film' and 'dry*m' in Berlin. As a producer, director, cameraman and master of cutting he has created award-winning feature and documentary films with directors like Thomas Grube, Peter Thorwart and Prof. Hans Joachim Bernd as well as more than 70 music videos and 50 commercials.

In 2005, together with Dirk Grau, Martin Hoffmann was awarded the German Film Prize for cutting, for his work on the cinema documentary film 'RHYTHM IS IT!'.

Since the birth of his daughter Tara (2002) and son Silas (2004), Martin Hoffmann has been a happy father but also working as a 'creative free-lancer' at BOOMTOWNMEDIA on innovative developments of the firm.
